Goals and Outcomes

By attending Salt Lake Community College, I hope to gain more knowledge and understanding of not only your basic academics and curriculum, but also how to function successfully in the real world. Experience in tougher classes will strengthen me as a person by giving me practice when it comes to set deadlines and time management. Study skills will be useful for the rest of my life, as they teach how to sit down and concentrate to complete a task to the best of your ability, even if it requires late nights. Balancing education with the rest of your life is a skill set in it of itself.  I hope to become a better learner, by becoming more aware of my learning styles and what works best for me as an individual. With that being said, I am looking for a career in the field of Sports Medicine.

Short Term Goals:

  • Attend Salt Lake Community College at the West Jordan Campus in the Fall to start working on my Associates Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

  • Get a job at Intermountain Healthcare

  • Receive more scholarships

Long Term Goals:

  • Get accepted into a Physician's Assistant Program

  • Work in an Orthopedic Hospital

  • Keep a 4.0 throughout college

Learning Outcomes:

SLCC's learning outcomes can help me achieve my goals by preparing me for a higher education. My critically thinking skills have improved, as that is one of their goals. Working with others improves my problem solving skills and people skills. Art 1010 has helped me become more creative, which is not only useful with art itself, but also in problem-solving. Things aren't always going to be simple in the real world or even at work, so being able to think of new ideas is always a plus. Communication is a key to professionalism in my long term-goals, which SLCC can and will definitely keep me improving on.
